Founded in 1967, Community Family Development (CFD) is the largest nonprofit childcare center in Dutchess County, offering year-round care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. With nearly 100 children enrolled and 98% of families receiving subsidies, we make high-quality, affordable care accessible to Poughkeepsie families.

Step 2: Fill out the enrollment form and pay your registration fee (if required). Have a discount code? Be sure to enter it!
Step 3: Watch for any additional forms or documents in the Brightwheel Parent Portal.
Step 4: Once we’ve reviewed everything, you’ll get a confirmation email with:

Community Family Development is proud to work alongside state-funded childcare subsidy programs that help make quality care more affordable for families. These programs help cover a portion (or sometimes all) of your childcare costs, based on your income and eligibility.
