For our second Administrative team highlight for today, we are going to shine the light on Ms. Pam, our Program Director!

Pam has been with CFD since February of 2018. She studied Musical Theatre Performance at the SUNY Dutchess Performing Arts Program. With the program, Pam performed in the 2015 Kennedy Center Musical Theatre Excellence Award competition and spent three days performing on stage with other nominees from across New York State, and was recognized as a finalist in the competition. She later went on to hold a Child Development Associate Credential in Early Childhood Education and pursue her career in the Early Childhood field.



Did you know that Pam enjoys Aerial Yoga? It is an acrobatic form of yoga that involves flips and tricks, and uses fabric "silks" to lift you off the ground!



When she is not busy in the office working on fun new projects and programs for the school, Pam owns a children's performing arts company that specializes in performances from favorite fairytale princess characters such as Cinderella, Ariel, Elsa or Anna, and many more! She performs and trains other performers with the company as well and has been involved with princess performing for 3 years.

In honor of #nationalbossesday, we are going to highlight our administrative team! First up is our Executive Director, Ms. Jaime. Jaime has been with CFD since July 2017. She holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelors Degree in Italian.

Did you know that Jaime has been in the early childhood field for the last 17 years?! She has worked at private centers, franchises and even corporate based daycare centers. She brings her knowledge of high quality early childhood programming to our non-profit program.

When she’s not busy in the office working on fun new projects and programs for the school, you can find her running around playing with the preschoolers or running tech support for the school age enrichment program, and even snuggling with our infants and coloring with our toddlers!

When we asked her what her favorite part about working at CFD is, she said this: “I love being able to make a difference in a child’s and family’s life each day. I love watching the children grow and even the family too!”

The Governor has given the green light for Dutchess County and the rest of the Mid-Hudson region to begin Phase 1 of the re-opening process on Tuesday, May 26th. County Executive Marc Molinaro has issued the following statement:

“Dutchess County and the Mid-Hudson Region, will officially begin Phase One reopening on Tuesday, May 26th. With the region having successfully met all of the health metrics to reopen and the balance of volunteer contact tracers conducting their online training this weekend, Governor Cuomo has given us the green light for Restarting Dutchess on Tuesday.

We now begin a new chapter. The work we all do going forward will determine our course forward. Businesses will be slowly reopening with strict health and safety plans in place that must be followed. Public health teams will be watching all of the data closely to protect our community health. Individuals must maintain their vigilance in protecting themselves and their families – wear face coverings when going out, maintain social distancing, and wash your hands. Continuing to make smart choices will protect our community.

We are exceptionally grateful to all those who have signed up to volunteer as contact tracers – it is critical the training is completed this weekend to ensure our reopening proceeds on Tuesday. Thank you for making our Tuesday reopening possible!”

A reminder: Rite Aid is expanding its COVID-19 testing efforts, including adding a site at its 709 Main Street pharmacy in the City of Poughkeepsie. Beginning today, Rite Aid will offer COVID-19 swab testing at no cost for adults, including those not exhibiting any symptoms of the virus. These testing sites utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. Patients are required to provide government issued identification, be at least 18 years old, and need to pre-register online at www.riteaid.com in order to schedule a time slot for testing. We understand that some parents and children depend on school lunches for nourishment. Children will be out of school for the next 2 weeks as far as we know. We have decided to provide a FREE bagged lunch to any child that needs it over this 2 week break.

Each lunch will contain a Sandwich, a piece of fruit, a bag of chips and a juice box. It will be made and put together in our kitchen. You will have your choice of peanut butter and jelly or cold cuts. Please share this so everyone who needs to see this will see this and feel free to private message us and reserve your child(rens) lunch.

Dutchess County officials announced today that a County resident has tested positive for Coronavirus/COVID-19. With the declaration yesterday of COVID-19 as a pandemic and today’s first confirmed case of Coronavirus here in Dutchess, County officials are recommending the suspension of large community and social gatherings and events as a precautionary measure through the end of April.
